Definition:
Lliterally "simple" or "plain" beer, Einfacbier is one of four German beer taxes categories. It is defined as any brew, regardless of color or composition, with a taxable extract value of 2 to 5.5%, which usually produces and alcohol by volume content of 0.5 to 1.5%, slightly above non-alcoholic beers and slightly below Leichtbiers. Only very few breweries make Einfachbier nowadays, and the category holds no more than 0.1% market share in Germany.
