the German Beer Institute
The
German Beer Institute (GBI) is a work in progress. When
fully constituted, it will be a membership-based association of German Breweries
and German private and public institutions interested in English-speaking
markets for German beer and in events and activities surrounding the enjoyment
of German beer.
The mission of GBI
is to spread "the word" about German beer and to be the
central clearing house of information for English-speaking beer aficionadoswherever
they may be. This website offers a comprehensive, panoramic, easy-to-access
and fun-to-read compendium of German beer informationorganized by
beer styles, breweries, beer travel destinations and events, and historical
materialto enhance the understanding and appreciation of German beer
in its uniqueness, quality and diversity.

The German Beer Institute website is an ever-expanding "virtual" Internet community. It provides a wide range of information and background knowledge on German beer. In the planning stage for future expansions of this site are a consumer membership section with a monthly news letter as well as a German beer lovers chat room.
